Oh no Surin!

Surin West Birmingham ⛔
Not So Vegan Friendly
So I decided since I have been trying to clean my house before September 1st I deserved a nice lunch out, by myself since the Hubby was at work and my Best Gal Pal was too. So I looked online for vegan options for lunch- I already had in mind that I wanted Surin West located in the Five Points Square on the Southside of B’ham. Ok my favorite thing about this place isn't the freshly remodeled décor, or the cool background music that plays while you enjoy your meal or the fact that this is a nice locale for business meetings and the like… my absolute favorite thing about this place WAS the coconut soup… Yep you see the huge WAS. That’s because I found out that this is not a vegan friendly option it contains chicken broth and fish oil, this sucks so bad!😢😲Well my waitress gave me the option for onion soup, today will be the first time trying it from here. Lets hope it goes well. So that was the first huge letdown to this meal. Next on the list is the fact that they don’t offer many options at all that are geared towards vegan eaters. I know this may be a new concept for the Birmingham area, but come on folks! They say we are the last place to catch on to anything around here…yeah this is the place to be when Armageddon breaks out, but not now when it comes to foodie options.
I ate the onion soup, which let me clarify, is not on the lunch menu, just in case you are wanting to try it, but it's not that great unfortunately. I think I am still in shock over the coconut soup, honestly.  On to my main course, I wanted something with the curry sauce, but unfortunately that couldn't go down either. Yeah my taste buds were all ready for some deliciousness, but they didn't get it today. I chose to get the Veggie Stir fry with the white rice and a sweet tea. It wasn't  the worse but I know if I cooked at home I would have hooked it up… so I guess that’s what I need to do from now on. Well it was nice to get out of the house for a little while and see the city streets.
Not all was bad from my visit, though. If you like great customer service and a nice atmosphere then I encourage you to go see Tonya during the lunch hour. I let her know what I was looking for and she did her due diligence to get the info I was searching for. I was also able to share with her my desire to eat healthier and she even let me know some interesting info on tofu. Man the stuff you find out when you become conscious of your food intake is amazingly shocking!
Well that's it for the BhamBloggin'Vegan this go round. If you decide to go visit this location, maybe for a drink or just a nice outting,  make sure you ask for Tonya and tell ‘em the B'hamBVegan Chick sent you.
